Her contributions have been recognised by her inclusion in the We Are Power’s Future list at the 2023 North Power Women’s Awards, marking her as a change-maker shaping the future of the offshore wind industry.
Kinewell Energy – Shortlisted for Equity and Inclusivity Award
Kinewell Energy has implemented agile working policies, fostering a diverse workforce that significantly outperforms industry norms with 31% female representation, including CTO Dr. Henna Bains. Kinewell’s unique recruitment strategy, based on values and transferable skills, attracts professionals from diverse backgrounds including from beyond the offshore wind sector. This makes Kinewell’s recruitment unconstrained by the poor demographic mix of the sector. Furthermore, the company actively participates in inclusive employment schemes like Karbon Homes New Start and the Kickstart Scheme, creating opportunities for underrepresented groups. Educational initiatives such as EduKLOC and university internships further demonstrate Kinewell’s commitment to accessibility and diversity. With its inclusive technology development, including multi-language software translations, Kinewell Energy is setting new benchmarks for equity and inclusivity in the offshore wind sector, contributing to a more innovative and equitable industry.
